We are very excited to introduce one of our new Pre-K teachers to you - Laine Guth!

Laine Guth is a preschool teacher at MPE. This will be Mrs. Guth's first year teaching at MPE, but her seventh year teaching. Mrs. Guth grew up in Mahomet and is excited to be a Bulldog once again! Mrs. Guth received her Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University in Early Childhood Education. She is currently working toward her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois. Before teaching at MPE, Mrs. Guth taught 2nd grade in Rantoul, Kindergarten in Paxton, and 1st grade at Barkstall Elementary in Champaign.

Mrs. Guth has been married to her husband, Nick, for four years. They were good friends in school, and in the same MSHS graduating class of 2010! They live in Savoy with their 2-year-old daughter Olivia. They also have a very active dog that still behaves like a puppy. Chief is a 4 year old lab/chow mix that has more energy than the 3 of them combined!

When Mrs. Guth is not at school, she likes to read (mainly historical fiction novels), work out (barre class is her favorite), try new recipes in the kitchen, watch Illini basketball and football, shop online, and travel to new places with family. Mrs. Guth enjoys trying new restaurants and making frequent visits to Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts for a "pick-me-up" cup coffee or an unsweetened iced tea. Fall is her favorite season, and the Bath and Body Works fall scented candles can be found throughout the Guth house from late August all the way through until Christmas time.

Mrs. Guth loves teaching her students how to be kind, helpful, and empathetic toward one another. She feels so blessed to have the opportunity to teach in her hometown, and create some of the same memories with her students that she experienced during her time as a student here. She is eager to begin this new adventure with the youngest, most precious group of learners. Go Bulldogs!
