The MSHS chess team competed in the IHSA State Chess Meet this weekend in Peoria. The State Chess meet is unique in that (this year) there were about 150 schools there! Our Team record was 3-3-1, a decent showing at the State Meet.
Nick Morrow played our 2nd Board for the tournament and had a record of 6-1, earning him an individual medal at State and placing him as the #7 ranked 2nd board in the meet.
Evan Lundstrom played our 1st board had an individual record of 5-2 which placed him as the 36th ranked 1st board in the state.
Other team members included: Abby Nagy (3rd board), Steven Underwood (4th board), Ryan Fox (5th board), Bryan Retallick (6th board), Natalie Jacobi (7th board), Nate Elliott (8th board), Jadin Elliott, Logan Weiss, and Jason Fox.
